Dan is a proven performer and problem solver, having extensively updated and implemented city-wide comprehensive plans, zoning and development regulations, subarea plans, overlay districts, and community communication plans in two states. All of these projects utilized extensive community input throughout the planning process.

Dan’s practice currently concentrates on implementing green infrastructure via long-range planning projects and education. His most recent completed project is the 3,400-acre subarea plan called the Southwest Quadrant Plan. This plan uses transects, form-based code, tradable/purchasable development rights (TDRs/PDRs) to secure open space, and context-sensitive road design to implement Town sustainability, economic, and cultural goals. The success of this plan was detailed at the 2008 APA/ASLA Colorado state conference in Breckenridge, September 13, 2008.
